The Tokyo Metropolitan Government will open a 460-meter section of Urban Planning Road Auxiliary Street No. 74 from Okubo 3-chome to Takadanobaba 4-chome in Shinjuku Ward to traffic on November 18 at 15:00.

It is a multi-level (underpass) that passes under the Yamanote Line tracks on the south side of Takadanobaba Station, and a new lane with 4.7m above ground level will be built at 186m (Suwa-dori Tunnel) in the section to create four lanes. The higher ground clearance will allow for the passage of large emergency vehicles.

In addition, the Kotakibashi intersection on the west side of the street will be improved in conjunction with this project. In addition to making it possible to go straight from Suwa-dori toward Ochiai and Nakano, the project is expected to relieve traffic congestion at the Kotakibashi intersection.
