Unzen Tourism Bureau in Nagasaki Prefecture will offer priority reservations for parking lots and ropeways to relieve traffic congestion during the high season at Nitatoge, a famous autumn foliage viewing spot. The period is five-day weekends from October 28 to 29 and November 3 to 5.
During the period, visitors can make reservations in advance through “Webket,” a ticket purchase site, according to their purpose of climbing or ropeway, and pay a cooperation fee to be given priority, thus reducing waiting time and allowing visitors to enjoy sightseeing. On the day of the tour, the registration desk will be open at the Unzen BASE (General Information Center).
When driving to Nitatoge, you can either park at the nearby Unzen BASE temporary parking lot and take the free shuttle bus, or present the QR code at the Nitatoge Circulation Road gate before parking at the Nitatoge parking lot.
