ROOTOTE, a brand specializing in tote bags, will release a series of new “HATARAKU TOTE” products in collaboration with Metropolitan Expressway starting October 30. It will be available at online stores and at some Metropolitan Expressway PAs.
The “HATARAKU TOTE” is an upcycled item made from banners that are no longer used on highways. The charm of these one-of-a-kind products lies in their large Japanese characters, contrasting colors, and the taste created by exposure to the elements.
In addition to updated versions of existing items, the new products include six types in total, including an umbrella tote and a sacoche-type mini tote that is convenient for carrying smartphones and other items. The umbrella tote and the sakosh tote are scheduled to go on sale on November 27.
