LUUP begins November 1 with free first 30 minutes of subs. Revised rates make use of more than 10 minutes less expensive.

Posted on October 1, 2023 by News Admin

Luup will change the fees for its electric micromobility sharing service, LUUP, and begin offering subscription plans on November 1.

The fee change covers six regions: Tokyo/Kyoto/Yokohama/Kobe/Nagoya/Hiroshima. Previously, the total fee was 50 yen for the basic ride plus 15 yen/minute for the hourly fee, but from November 1, the hourly fee will be 200 yen/30 minutes only.

In addition to making rides of 10 minutes or more more more reasonable, the 30-minute interval facilitates stops at convenience stores and other locations. In addition, the current fee structure will continue in all but six areas, and in some ports, there may be a temporary situation where signs with the pre-changed fee are posted after the fee change.

Two plans are available for subscriptions: Lite and Premium. The Lite plan costs 500 yen per month, with a 100 yen discount on each ride, and is suitable for relatively infrequent users, such as those new to LUUP or those who want to casually try out LUUP subscriptions.

The premium plan costs 3,000 yen per month and the first 30 minutes of each ride is free. The company recommends this plan for users with particularly high frequency of use, who use it for daily transportation such as commuting. Subscriptions are available in seven regions: Tokyo/Osaka/Kyoto/Yokohama/Kobe/Nagoya/Hiroshima, with advance trial plans available for purchase starting November 1.
