On September 27, Warner Bros. Studios Japan opened the “Forbidden Forest” area of the “Studio Tour Tokyo Making of Harry Potter” (1-1-7 Kasuga-cho, Nerima-ku, Tokyo) to the media for the first time.

The “Harry Potter Tour,” as it is commonly known, opened on the former Toshimaen site and is the world’s largest Harry Potter-themed indoor walk-through entertainment facility.

Visitors can enjoy walking through each area, which is an authentic reproduction of the sets of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and Diagon Alley that appear in the story, as well as exhibits of costumes and props created by the creators of the film, and a hands-on experience using a magic wand.

The Forbidden Forest is an eerie area of the Hogwarts grounds that is full of danger and “off-limits” to students. In the first film in the series, “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” it is first depicted in a scene where Harry helps Hagrid, the Keeper of the Forest, with his work as punishment for sneaking out of his dormitory in the middle of the night.

There, he encounters Lord Voldemort, who sucks the blood of a unicorn, and a centaur saves the day in a pinch, and a series of other events that are key to the story are impressive.

The “Forbidden Forest” area of the Harpotta tour realistically recreates such an eerie nighttime forest, where visitors can encounter the “Philosopher’s Stone” as well as other mysterious magical animals and famous scenes that have appeared throughout the series, including “The Chamber of Secrets” and “Prisoner of Azkaban”.

Also, as you advance through the darkness, you will encounter the Dementors, terrifying spirit-sucking demons. Here, visitors can use a magic wand to cast the “Expecto Patronum” spell and fight off the dementors.

After safely passing through the forest, we arrived at Hagrid’s hut. The cute stone exterior and the somewhat relaxing feeling of being surrounded by many pumpkins are just like in the film itself. This is one of the highlights of the “Harpopotamus Tour,” which is celebrating its first Halloween since opening in June of this year.
