Yamamoto Nori Store is selling a “Yaki-Nori Box Set” made-to-order to commemorate Disney’s 100th anniversary.
The set includes a paulownia wood grilled laver box with a serial number, Miyako charcoal, and four grilled laver cans, priced at 27,500 yen. The product is available at the Nihonbashi main store of Yamamoto Nori, the official online store, and at department store outlets nationwide.
A yaki-nori box is a tool used to reproduce the crispy texture, flavor, and aroma of freshly baked seaweed. By heating the nori over a charcoal fire, it is said to bring out its flavor just like grinding coffee beans.
The lid features a limited edition Disney 100 design, and the air hole on the side is hollowed out into a Mickey shape, making it a perfect celebration piece. It is the perfect accompaniment to an evening drink at home.
