On September 22, JR Tokai launched the autumn edition of its sightseeing campaign “Let’s go to Kyoto! Autumn version of the campaign. In addition, a new commercial for this campaign will be aired from September 30.

This autumn marks the 30th anniversary of the “My Favorite Things” commercial, which features various attractions of Kyoto, such as autumn leaves, cherry blossoms, history, art, and food, through the eyes of a traveler. The song “My Favorite Things,” which has been used in the commercial for 30 years, is arranged by violinist Neko Saito, and the narration is by actor Tasuku Emoto, who has continued to narrate the commercial since 2018.

During the period, various sightseeing spots in Kyoto will offer experiences that are only possible during the autumn season. In addition to a zazen session at Nanzenji Temple, the setting for the new commercial, temples with beautiful autumn foliage will offer special early-morning and nighttime views with after-hours reservations and prior admission. Special nighttime viewing events, where visitors can enjoy the illumination of the autumn leaves, are scheduled at a total of 10 locations, including Jojuji Temple, which will be open for the first time this year.
