Ube City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, will hold “Machiju Evangelion Vol. 3” from October 6 to January 8, 2024, in connection with the popular anime series “Evangelion,” written and directed by Hideaki Anno, a director from Ube City.
To commemorate this project, Ube Steel, a UBE Group company with advanced casting technology, will manufacture a “Lance of Longinus” over 7 meters in length, which appears in the Evangelion film, and donate it to Ube City.
The process from planning to installation is as follows: plan analysis, model making, coating, molding, dissolution casting, disassembly, cutting, shot blasting, gouging Gr, processing, inspection, painting, shipping, and installation.
The Spear of Longinus is scheduled to be exhibited at Tokiwa Park Sculpture Hill (3-4 Nonaka, Ube City, Yamaguchi Prefecture) in Ube City from October 6.
Ube City will also conduct intensive promotions in Taiwan, which is known for its large number of Evangelion fans, as the first inbound promotion of the “Machi-Chu Evangelion” program.
