The Kawagoe Festival Enjoyment Association will hold the Koedo Kawagoe Festival on October 14-15. In conjunction with this event, tickets for pier seats, which allow visitors to sit and watch the festival, are available on the ticket website “Canfeti.
The “Koedo-Kawagoe Festival” is a festival in which gorgeous floats with elaborate dolls and other objects parade through the streets of the town, centering on the warehouse-style streets that are the symbol of Koedo-Kawagoe. Various performances can be seen, such as “Hikikkawase,” when the floats meet each other at intersections, and “Yoiyama,” when the floats are lit with lanterns in the evening and perform a festival music performance.
Traffic regulations will be enforced throughout the area on the day of the festival, which usually attracts nearly 1 million visitors over the two days. The seats will be sold at five different times each day, and will include a boxed lunch (the rank differs depending on the time of the day) and a drink. Seats are numbered and are unreserved after admission, with four chairs per round table, and in some cases seats may be shared.
