Shinkansen Maintenance Tokai goes to a new uniform for the first time in about 30 years. Stylish blue and orange

Posted on September 9, 2023 by News Admin

Shinkansen Maintenance Tokai will renew its uniforms for the first time in 30 years, and will start wearing the new uniforms produced by Onward Corporate Design on October 1.

The staff members who perform turnaround maintenance for the Tokaido Shinkansen at Tokyo Station are called “dressers,” and their ability to perform maintenance on all 1,323 seats in just 10 minutes attracts attention from overseas as well.

The company aims to improve the company’s overall image, foster job satisfaction, and make it easier for employees to work, by renewing the pink and blue uniforms.

The new uniforms are based on a dark blue base that harmonizes with the image of the Tokaido Shinkansen, and accented with orange, the color of the JR Tokai line, for a striking and stylish design. The bottoms are glen check, and the hat is cassock-style, creating a uniform look for both men and women, but also making it easy for each to wear.
