Develop will open a container hotel, HOTEL R9 The Yard Satsumasendai (665-1 Miyazato-cho, Satsumasendai, Kagoshima Prefecture), on October 6. Reservations for lodging will be accepted from September 29.

The “HOTEL R9 The Yard” series is a series of container hotels that can be used as lodging facilities during normal times and converted into evacuation facilities in case of emergency. The guest rooms can also function as a “rescue hotel” by being promptly moved to the disaster area.

The independent guestrooms, which are built using construction container modules, do not have walls that connect to neighboring rooms to maintain quietness and privacy, and the 13m2 rooms are equipped with a bed, unit bath, refrigerator/freezer, microwave oven, humidifying air purifier, and other amenities to provide a simple yet high level of comfort.

This will be the fifth store to open in Kagoshima Prefecture, located approximately 2 minutes by car from the Satsumasendai-Takae Interchange on the South Kyushu Westbound Expressway, and approximately 8 minutes by car from Kawauchi Station on the JR Kyushu and Hisatsu-Orenji Railway lines. Satsumasendai Port is also accessible in about 15 minutes by car. In addition to business use, the hotel is close to popular sightseeing spots in the city, including traditional hot spring resorts, and can be used as a base for sightseeing.

The hotel will have a total of 34 rooms, consisting of 30 double rooms and 4 twin rooms. Rates for double rooms start from 6,200 yen per person per night/ 8,700 yen per person per night for two people. Rates for twin rooms start from 6,200 yen per person per night/9,700 yen per person per night for two people.

Prior to the opening, the company plans to sign a disaster agreement with Satsumasendai City in Kagoshima Prefecture on October 2 regarding the dispatch of a rescue hotel. As a result, the hotel will be used as a local disaster prevention base in the event of a disaster.
