Casio Computer Co. opened a virtual community for its shock-resistant G-SHOCK watch on September 5.
VIRTUAL G-SHOCK Community” on the online chat service “Discord”. With the aim of further expanding the number of users, the company will develop virtual communities such as NFT and Metaverse to provide new experiences.
The first 15,000 “G-SHOCK CREATOR PASS”, a NFT (non-replaceable token) membership that allows participation in the community, will be distributed free of charge on September 23, starting at 12:00 pm. The program is available in Japan and more than 10 other countries. Memberships will be issued through the Polygon blockchain, which has a high usage rate worldwide.
Membership holders will be able to access the Discord community and participate in the “G-SHOCK CREATOR PASS Color Design Contest” to determine the design (color, material and pattern) for the G-SHOCK CREATOR PASS. The best design will be voted on by the community, and the winning entry will be used in the actual pass design.
