In conjunction with Disney’s 100th anniversary, the BANDAI NAMCO Group will release the “Disney IMAGINATION BELT,” a belt-shaped toy, on its official online shopping site, Premium Bandai.
When worn and a special key is inserted and turned, the belt door opens and a special video is played on the 2.8-inch full-color LCD. Reservations will be accepted from September 1 at 4:00 p.m. until October 31 at 11:00 p.m. The price is 39,600 yen. The product is scheduled to arrive in January 2024.
The Disney IMAGINATION BELT features a design reminiscent of the rudder wheel from Steamboat Willie. The gold-colored plating and metallic coating provide both a premium and mechanical design.
Includes 10 “IMAGINATION KEY” pieces inspired by popular characters from past Disney films. The lineup includes Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Snow White, Elsa, Woody, Gro-Goo, Iron Man, and other characters representing the Disney 100, from Disney classics to Star Wars and Marvel. The key is made of die-cast metal and is embellished with rhinestones for a luxurious look.
The above key must be inserted into the main unit to activate the belt function. When the key is turned once, Imagination Power is loaded, and the LED on top of the main unit glows. The door opens and the beautiful animations and sounds that only a 2.8-inch full-color LCD can provide can be enjoyed.
Turning it once more releases the imagination power and activates further effects. The automatic rotation gears on the main unit rotate, and images that bring the user even closer to the character’s worldview are played back.
In addition to playing with the belts, the official website recommends that each character be bound and coordinated by wearing the belt as an accessory.
