I definitely want to ride this train! The “JR Kyushu WAKU WAKU SMILE Shinkansen,” with popular Disney characters wrapped on its body, is now in service!

JR Kyushu began operation of the “JR Kyushu WAKU WAKU SMILE Shinkansen” on August 24, 2012.

To commemorate the start of the service, Yuriyan Retriever made a surprise appearance at Hakata Station. She participated in the departure ceremony and gave the departure signal.

JR Kyushu has been presenting the attractions of Kyushu with its Disney friends through “Go! Waku Waku Trip with MICKEY” and “GO! WAKU WAKU ADVENTURE with PIXAR.

This time, as part of the WAKU WAKU SMILE project under the concept of “Let’s get on the train and see the many smiling faces all over Kyushu!” The “JR Kyushu WAKU WAKU SMILE Shinkansen” will run from Hakata to Kumamoto to Kagoshima Chuo until mid-December. The Kyushu Shinkansen Series 800 cars (one train, six cars) will have Disney characters on four sides of the first and sixth carriages.

Yuriyan Retriever appeared at the departure ceremony on the 24th, commenting, “I love Disney, I love bullet trains, and I love Fukuoka. I love Disney, I love Shinkansen, and I love Fukuoka. I felt like Disney was coming! She said with a big smile.

WAKU WAKU SMILE with MUSIC BOX, a music box and photo spot set up at eight stations in Kyushu, and the “GO! WAKU WAKU SMILE Stamp Rally,” in which participants travel by train to 100 locations to collect 100 different stamps.

The train schedule and other information can be found on the special website. The photo spot and stamp rally will run until December 15.
