Hieizan Enryakuji Temple (4220 Sakamoto Honmachi, Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture), the head temple of the Tendai sect of Buddhism, has introduced Urakata Ticket, an electronic ticketing service from Asobu, and started selling tickets for the temple.
By providing an environment that allows both domestic and international visitors to purchase tickets online and eliminates the need for cash payment at the site, the company hopes to contribute to the transmission of historic cultural properties and increase visitor satisfaction.
Mr. Kakutoshi Ogamo, Director of General Affairs, Hieizan Enryakuji Temple, commented, “We are looking forward to attracting visitors from Japan and overseas by expanding our sales opportunities. We are starting with tickets for the various halls, but we are considering expanding the sales of tickets and goods for various experiences and events in the future.
