NAVITIME Japan has made all of its consumer navigation services, including “NAVITIME” and “NAVITIME API” for corporate users, compatible with information on all express buses in Japan. This enables route searches, timetables, and the display of bus stops on a map for express buses throughout Japan.
The new system is 100% compatible with approximately 225 express bus companies and 900 routes nationwide. This makes it possible to propose more varied routes for long-distance travel compared to airplanes, bullet trains, and other means of transportation. In addition, some routes are linked to reservations, allowing users to make express bus reservations directly from the route search results.
In preparing the data, the company has also taken care to prevent duplication of information when data is received from multiple companies operating jointly, and to accurately identify the prefecture of each bus stop since many routes straddle prefectural borders in terms of departure, transit, and arrival points.
