Posted on August 20, 2023 by News Admin

Choshi Electric Railway has taken over the 2200 Series rolling stock owned by Nankai Electric Railway. This is the first time in about eight years that new rolling stock (used rolling stock) has been introduced, and the first time in about 30 years that used rolling stock (not used used used rolling stock) has been introduced. The newly acquired cars will be put into operation after the necessary modification work for running, but the start date has not yet been determined.

The 2200-series cars, with car numbers MOHA 2202-MOHA 2252, were manufactured in 1969 as 2200-series cars and operated on the Koya Line, including the mountainous section south of Hashimoto. The train was converted to one-man operation and operated on the Tanagawa Line and other branch lines.
