JICA Vice President Junichi Yamada met with Deputy Prime Minister Tran Lu Quang of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on August 1 during his visit to the country.
At the beginning of the meeting, both parties were pleased to meet again for the first time since May 2023, and Vice President Yamada expressed his pleasure at the signing on July 4 of a yen loan agreement for three projects totaling up to 60,983 million yen.
In response, Deputy PM Quang expressed his appreciation for the Japanese government’s support and his expectations for further cooperation in infrastructure development, particularly railroads, GX and DX, and climate change countermeasures. Both sides also confirmed that Japan and Vietnam will work closely together to further promote ongoing projects.
