Odakyu Electric Railway has announced that the last service of one of its 50000 Limited-Express Romance Cars (VSE) will be on September 24; the VSE had been announced to be retired in 2023, but the second train (50002 x 10) of the two trains in service will finish its service first.
The final tour is titled “Arigatou 50002-kitai: The Last Rendezvous of Two VSE Formations Mystery Tour” and will depart from Kyodo Station and arrive at Ebina Station as a “mystery tour” whose route will not be announced until the day of the tour. The price is 13,800 yen for the “Light Organization Course,” which includes only the train ride, and 15,300 yen for the “Gutsy Organization Course,” which includes a photo session at the train yard after arrival.
The first train (50001 x 10) is scheduled to be retired at the end of December.
