Odakyu Electric Railway, Odakyu Hakone Holdings, Sumitomo Mitsui Card, JCB, and OMRON Social Solutions will introduce touch settlement at Odakyu Hakone Group transportation stations on August 2.
Utilizes “stera transit,” a solution for public transportation provided by Sumitomo Mitsui Card. In addition to touch payment using a card (credit, debit, or prepaid) that supports touch payment, or a smartphone with the card installed, a dedicated terminal with an electronic ticket reading function using QR codes will be installed.
The touch payment system to be introduced for the Hakone Ropeway and Hakone Pirate Boat will be handled as a one-day unlimited ride (boat) ticket by touch, in response to the trend among visitors to Japan who often use the system for round-trip rides. In this case, the fare will be 2,220 yen for adults, which is more economical than paying each time the ticket is used.
QR Ticket will also be introduced to Hakone Tozan Railway and Hakone Tozan Cable Car, and can be used in a wide area within Hakone Mountain.
