The Metropolitan Expressway will hold various events to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the opening of the Rainbow Bridge.
The special website, opened on July 25, will be updated as needed with photos and videos of the effects of the Rainbow Bridge opening and the history of the Rinkai Fukutoshin area, as well as information on various events, etc. The website will be available until March 31, 2024.
From August 24 to 27, an exhibition commemorating the 30th anniversary of the opening will be held at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan). Photos and panels will be displayed, and mystery-solving game kits will be distributed.
On August 26, the “Rainbow Bridge Main Tower Climbing Tour” will be held. Visitors can climb to the top of the Rainbow Bridge main tower, which is normally inaccessible. The application period is from July 25 to August 1, and if there are too many applications, the tour will be held by lottery.
The “Rainbow Bridge 30th Anniversary Lighting” will be held from August 19 to 27. During this period, the bridge will be illuminated every day from about 30 minutes after sunset until 24:00.
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the opening of the bridge, a logo mark was designed with the number 30 as the main tower of the Rainbow Bridge. The logo will be used in various events and PR activities.
