Seibu Railway will release “Commemorative Tickets for Dr. Tomitaro Makino, a botanist associated with Oizumigakuen Station” (1,000 yen per set) at Oizumigakuen, Nerima, Tokorozawa, and Ikebukuro stations on July 28.

To promote the area around and along the Oizumigakuen Station, which is associated with botanist Dr. Tomitaro Makino, the model for the main character in the TV series “Ranman,” 4 types of train tickets with plant paintings by Dr. Makino, plus exclusive mounting paper, are available in a limited edition of 3,000 sets.

Valid July 28-December 31, may be used only once each way.

They also recommend a visit to the Nerima Ward Makino Memorial Garden (6-34-4 Higashioizumi, Nerima-ku, Tokyo), the site of the residence and garden where Dr. Makino spent more than 30 years from 1926 until his death.
