Pokémon GO has a new feature: Official Routes. The first five cities are Sapporo, Ishinomaki, Hamamatsu, Suita, and Dazaifu.

Create and share your favorite routes for adventure

Creating a route 〈1〉 Select a PokéStop or Gym to use as a starting point

Press record to start mapping the route.

Enter information about the “route” and submit for review

Once approved, other trainers can follow the route.

Finding a route 〈1〉 Check the Route tab from the “What’s Nearby” menu to view local routes.

Choose a route that catches your eye

Enjoy exploring by following your chosen route This time, “official routes” selected by local governments around Japan will also be available. In the first phase, Sapporo City, Hokkaido; Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture; Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture; Suita City, Osaka Prefecture; and Dazaifu City, Fukuoka Prefecture have released recommended places to play “Pokémon GO.

Sapporo, Hokkaido Route Name: Let’s walk around the tourist attractions in the center of Sapporo.

Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture Route Name: Machinaka Sakuin: Let’s Walk in the Reconstructed Town of Ishinomaki!

Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture Route Name: Arts and Culture Route in Hamamatsu, the “City of Music
