JR Tokai will set up a “special car for children” in Car 12 of some “Nozomi” trains on the Tokaido Shinkansen. The minimum number of passengers is one adult and one child each, and the service will run from August 10 to 20.
It will be sold as a JR Tokai Tours travel product (not available at station counters), and reservations can be made from 2:00 p.m. on July 3 until the day before the departure date. The number of trains available varies from day to day, with three one-way runs per day during the period when a large number of passengers are expected.
As a bonus, an electronic coupon worth 1,000 yen per adult per one-way trip is included and can be used at designated stores in the station. In addition, to commemorate the “Pokémon World Championships 2023,” everyone will receive a paper Pikachu sun visor.
Infants under 6 years of age are free of charge if they do not occupy a seat, but they must pay a child fare if they occupy a seat by themselves.
