Nankai Electric Railway, Taisei Corporation, Kanden Real Estate Development, Centara Osaka Japan, Hotel Keihan, and Nippi will hold the grand opening of a new urban area, Namba Parks South, on July 1.

The total area is 8915.34 m2 and consists of three main facilities: the Centagrand Hotel Osaka, a luxury hotel in Thailand, which is the first of its kind in Japan; Parks South Square, an office building; and Hotel Keihan Namba Grande, which opened earlier on March 25, 2012.

The facilities of the entire city block are designed with unified exterior walls, harmonizing and integrating with “Namba Parks”.

Namba Parks is a large-scale commercial complex redeveloped on the former site of the Osaka Baseball Stadium, once home to the Nankai Hawks (now Softbank Hawks). The first phase opened in 2003, followed by the second phase in 2007, and now the new Namba Parks South will open on the south side of Namba Parks.

The building will be directly connected to Namba Parks via a connecting deck on the second floor, providing easy access to the south side of the Namba area.

SHOPS & RESTAURANTS, which will be developed at three facilities, will include “Kura Sushi Global Flagship Store Namba Parks South,” the global flagship store of the popular conveyor-belt sushi chain, and “Kappa Ramen Honpo Namba Parks South,” which was established in Sennichimae, Osaka in 1997, The new restaurants will be located in the Centara Grand Hotel Osaka and Hotel Keihan Namba Grande, bringing the total number of new restaurants to 13.

Yasuyuki Fukushima, General Manager of the Development Department of Nankai Electric Railway’s Machi-Kyoso Division, gave an overview at the press conference, saying, “Namba Parks South will introduce a lodging function, which has never been available at Namba Parks before. By expanding office functions following Namba Skyo, which was completed in 2018, we aim to further revitalize the entire area as a base for tourism and business in the Namba area.
