Kumamoto Prefecture will reopen Kumamon Square (Tetoria Kumamoto Building 1F, 8-2 Tetorihonmachi, Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City), Kumamon’s activity base, on July 21.
To mark the 10th anniversary of its opening, the facility’s appeal will be enhanced with a new circular stage where visitors can enjoy Kumamon’s dynamic movements from various angles, and the introduction of AR-compatible contents using a large screen.
Prior to this, Nippon Columbia announced the production of a new song to deliver Kumamon’s “surprise and happiness” to the world.
Two songs, “Mamma Kumamon” with its highly addictive dance and call-outs, and “Tatte Minakatta”, a message song encouraging us to be positive, will both be available for music distribution on July 12.
The film was produced by the popular children’s music unit “Keropons,” and a making-of video has been available on their TikTok account (@columbia_kids) since June 14.
