Fujikyu Highland’s first new bike-ride coaster in 12 years, “ZOKKON

Posted on June 15, 2023 by News Admin

Fujikyu Highland (5-6-1 Shin-Nishihara, Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi, Japan) will open “ZOKKON,” a large scale motorcycle ride coaster, on July 20. It will be the first new large-scale coaster in 12 years since the 2011 “Takabisha” coaster, which cost approximately 4.5 billion yen to build.

This “exhilarating MAX coaster” allows visitors to board a motorcycle-shaped ride, grip the handlebars, and feel a sense of speed and exhilaration as if they are riding through the wind. The ride is said to provide a thrilling and comfortable experience through four rapid accelerations using a linear launch system, a series of turns, riding in a tunnel, running in reverse, and other effects. The ride itself is equipped with LED lights that shine brightly at night.

Other initiatives to protect the earth and Mt. Fuji include the installation of solar panels on the roofs of coaster station buildings and other structures, the use of interior materials made from recycled waste, and the greening of the grounds.

In addition, a number of original goods will be available to commemorate the opening of ZOKKON, and the official hotel, Highland Resort Hotel & Spa, plans to offer various lodging plans, including one that includes a first-ride ticket for the first ride on the first day of operation.
