JICA Vice President Junichi Yamada met with Kunio Mikuriya, Director General of the World Customs Organization (WCO), at JICA Headquarters on June 2.
At the beginning of the meeting, Vice President Yamada expressed his appreciation for the leadership of Director General Mikuriya for the close collaboration between JICA and WCO to date.
In response, Director General Mikuriya expressed his gratitude for JICA’s cooperation over the years and expressed his desire to continue to expand cooperation between JICA and WCO.
The two parties confirmed that they will continue to work closely together in human resource development, including the Master Trainer Program, a project to train customs field instructors in the Africa and Oceania regions, which is being implemented based on a business cooperation agreement (MOC) signed in 2015.
