Ambel launched the 25 mm thin “VERYKAL Flat” (5,940 yen) from the VERYKAL series of lightweight automatic open/close umbrellas.
Verical is a brand of highly functional umbrellas that open and close with a single touch of a button. The brand has reduced the weight of automatic folding umbrellas, which used to be heavy due to their complicated structure, and has sold more than 80,000 umbrellas in total.
The new product, Verical Flat, is 25 mm thin under the theme of “a lightweight umbrella that is easy to slip into the crevices of a bag. While similarly sized auto-open/close umbrellas sold at convenience stores weigh around 300-330g, the Verical Flat weighs only about 174g.
The fabric is treated with a nanotech water-repellent finish that can wipe off most water droplets with two or three shakes, and the frame is made of a combination of carbon fiber and fiberglass, making it durable enough to withstand wind speeds of up to 15 m/second.
The lineup includes 10 different colors to choose from, regardless of gender.
