On May 16, Seibu Railway held a “Ceremony to Commemorate the Renewal of Ikebukuro and Toshimaen Stations” at the plaza in front of Toshimaen Station, which was renovated for the opening of the “Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo Making of Harry Potter” (1-1-7 Kasuga-cho, Nerima-ku, Tokyo).
Also on the same day, a departure ceremony was held for the “Studio Tour Tokyo Express,” a fully wrapped train featuring three main cast members of the “Harry Potter” movie series in bold colors.
Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike, Nerima Ward Mayor Yoho Maekawa, and representatives of Warner Bros. attended the ceremony as guests of honor, and introduced the renewal points of Ikebukuro and Toshimaen stations, unveiled the newly installed LED vision system above the Toshimaen station building, and cut the ribbon.
According to Hitomi Gomi of Seibu Railway’s Facilities Section of the Engineering Department, who introduced the key points of the station renewal, the LED vision installed on top of the station building at Toshimaen Station will show an animation that evokes a magical world and the four seasons. The purpose of this project is to give station users the “essence of something a little out of the ordinary” in their daily lives.
Different animations will be played during the day and night, with a total of eight different versions for each season: spring, summer, fall, and winter. There is also a special “Golden Snitch” video provided by Warner Bros. that fans should not miss.
The ceremony moved to the platform of Toshimaen Station for the departure ceremony of the “Studio Tour Tokyo Express.
The vehicle was boldly decorated with three of the main cast members, Harry, Ron, and Hermione, with the Forbidden Forest from the “Harry Potter” movie series as the backdrop. The deep forest on the grounds of Hogwarts was the backdrop, and the subdued blue color was fresh.
