On May 15, Moderna Japan launched the “Moderna Infectious Disease Real-time Epidemic Information Site” to provide information on the epidemic status (estimated) of new coronas and seasonal influenza nationwide.
As is well known, new coronavirus infections were moved to the same category 5 as seasonal influenza on May 8, but the need to take precautions against infection remains the same. On the other hand, the survey of the number of infected persons has been switched from a total number report to a weekly fixed-point count, making it difficult to ascertain the actual situation on a daily basis as in the past.
In response, the company has launched a website that provides daily data on the epidemic status (estimates) of new coronas and influenza by region and age group, enabling the public to grasp the latest situation in real time. The information is based on real-world data from the Japan Medial Data Survey (JAMDAS).
