Korean Air will begin in-flight Wi-Fi service on international flights on June 1.
It will be introduced on Boeing 737-8 aircraft and will be available on routes such as Kanku-Incheon, Kanku-Kimpo, and Fukuoka-Incheon, which are currently operated by the same aircraft. In-flight Wi-Fi can be used by selecting the desired service from the dedicated website and completing payment after boarding. The service will be gradually introduced on other aircraft in the future.
The Wi-Fi service to be introduced will be classified into two categories: “Internet” for use of the Web, e-mail, and video, and “Messaging” for text messaging via LINE, Kakao Talk, WhatsApp, etc. Fees will vary depending on the route and time of use.
To celebrate the launch of the service, LINE and other messaging services will be offered free of charge for three months from June to August.
