Posted on May 12, 2023 by News Admin

NEXCO Central Japan will implement nighttime road closures on the Central Japan Expressway and the New Tomei Expressway (uplink) from June 12 to June 23. The closures will be in effect from June 12 to 14 on the Rokugo IC to Masuho IC (up and down lines), on June 19 on the Shin-Shimizu JCT, and by June 23 on the Shin-Shimizu JCT to Tomisawa IC (up and down lines).

Maintenance and repair work, such as inspections of road structures and facilities and cleaning of tunnel appendages, will be conducted. In case of bad weather, the decision to close the road to traffic during the night will be made by 17:00 on the day of the closure, and can be confirmed via NEXCO Central Japan’s official Twitter (Tokyo Branch @c_nexco_tokyo, Hachioji Branch @c_nexco_hachi) and visual highway telephones.

The implementation dates on the Chubu Cross-Island Expressway are from 20:00 to 6:00 the next morning on each day from June 19 to 23 on the 20-km route from Shin-Shimizu JCT to Tomisawa IC (up and down), with June 26 and 27 as reserve days. When detouring, drivers can exit at the Shin-Shimizu Interchange, pass through Route 52, and enter at the Tomisawa Interchange, which will increase traffic time by about 15 minutes.

The 10-km stretch from the Rokugo IC to the Masuho IC (up and down) will be open from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. each day from June 12 to 14, with the 15th and 16th as reserve days. When detouring, visitors can use Route 52 to pass through the area with an increase in time of approximately 10 minutes. There will be no toll transfer adjustment due to the detour on the Trans-Central Highway.

The implementation date on the New Tomei Expressway (up line) will be June 19 from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the next morning at Shin-Shimizu JCT, with the 20th as a backup date. During the period, a toll transfer adjustment will also be implemented if detours are made using designated interchanges.
