Posted on May 12, 2023 by News Admin

The first Pokémon park in the Chugoku region, “Sand Park,” opened on May 5 at the event plaza in Chubu Tottori Sand Dunes Kodomonokuni (Tottori City).

Pokémon Inc. has concluded a partnership agreement with Tottori Prefecture, and for the purpose of revitalizing the prefecture, park playground equipment designed by Pokémon such as Sand and Alola Sand, who have been appointed as Tottori Hometown Ambassadors, was donated to Tottori Prefecture, leading to the opening of Sand Park.

To celebrate the opening, an event will also be held in the location-based game app Pokémon GO, making it easier to encounter wild Sand and Alola Sand when visiting the park by June 5, and once a day until May 4, 2025, when you take a photo of a Pokémon with the GO Snapshot feature, a Sand or Alola Sand will appear in the picture. In addition, some playground equipment in Sand Park will appear as PokéStops and gifts can be obtained.

In addition, a Pokemon manhole “PokeLid” has been installed in front of the entrance gate of Kodomo no Kuni.
