Ishitsubute Park” opened at Michi no Eki Iwate Kitasanriku in Kuji City, Iwate Prefecture.

Posted on May 9, 2023 by News Admin

Iwate Prefecture and Pokémon Inc. opened Ishitsubute Park in Kuji City on April 28.

The two parties signed a cooperation agreement in May 2019 and planned a park featuring the Iwate-supporting Pokémon Ishitsubute. The park recently opened in the event plaza of Michi no Eki Iwate Kitasanriku with the cooperation of Kuji City.

The facility has playground equipment with designs of Ishitsubute and Iwa-type Pokémon, and the roadside station also has a section selling various goods, including original goods from the Pokémon Center. A Pokemon manhole “PokeLid” is also located on the premises.

The location-based game app “Pokémon GO” is running a project to commemorate the opening of the park, making it easier to meet wild Ishitubute until May 28, and once a day until May 4, Ishitubute will appear on your screen when you take a photo of the Pokémon with the “GO Snapshot” feature. In addition, some playground equipment in the park will appear as PokéStops.
