Car Navi, a car navigation application, added a function on April 24 to alert drivers at six ETC-only toll booths, where many wrong-entry toll gates are located.
When driving routes that include toll gates, audio alerts will be given at the beginning of the route and before the toll gates.
According to a survey by the Metropolitan Expressway, since the start of the ETC-only system, the above six tollgates have experienced more incorrect entries than other tollgates, and there have been cases of drivers backing out after entering the tollgate.
Car Navigation System will be equipped with a function to create a route to avoid ETC toll gates by 2022, and together with this new function, the company hopes to support safe driving and prevent wrong-entry for vehicles not equipped with ETC. This function will also be available in the Yahoo! MAP application by summer.
