On April 11, JICA President Akihiko Tanaka met with His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and
I met with His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II in Tokyo.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Majesty King Abdullah expressed his appreciation for JICA’s cooperation in Jordan, followed by an exchange of views on Jordan’s economic and financial reforms and the situation in the surrounding areas.
President Tanaka expressed his deep respect for the large number of refugees that Jordan has hosted and noted the results of JICA’s cooperation with Jordan, including in the field of tourism. He also expressed his hope to further deepen the relationship between Jordan and Japan, which will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year, through various exchanges and initiatives that take advantage of local cultural assets.
