Sekisui House and Marriott International will open the Fairfield by Marriott Kagoshima Tarumizu Sakurajima hotel (2058-2 Hamadaira, Tarumi City, Kagoshima Prefecture) adjacent to Roadside Station Tarumizu Hamabira in Tarumi City, Kagoshima Prefecture, on April 12.
Fairfield by Marriott is part of the Trip Base Roadside Station Project, which aims to create local communities based on roadside stations. With the hotel as a base, guests can enjoy activities such as SUP and canoeing in Kinko Bay, where Sakurajima spreads out before their eyes. Canyoning in Sarugajo Canyon is also available, and Yakushima Island, with its ancient cedar forests, is accessible by ferry.
Since the hotel specializes in overnight stays, there will be no restaurant in the building. For meals and souvenirs, local stores, including roadside stations, will be utilized to help revitalize the local economy.
