The Metropolitan Expressway has compiled a traffic congestion forecast for the Golden Week period (April 29-May 7) in 2023.
During this year’s Golden Week holiday period, traffic congestion is expected to increase due to the concentration of business traffic, etc. on April 21, 27, and 28 before Golden Week as well as on May 3, when a national holiday begins. Therefore, we urge you to avoid congestion by changing your travel days and times, or by taking detours.
Heavy traffic congestion is also expected on the Wangan Line, starting at Kawasaki Ukishima JCT, when heading toward Haneda Airport or to leisure spots during the period. Since the transit time will increase significantly, we recommend using the Airport West Exit on the No. 1 Haneda Line when traveling from Tokyo to Haneda Airport.
In addition, the Highway 1 Haneda Line Expressway Daishi Bridge will be closed to traffic all day from May 27 to June 10 due to renewal work.
