Today, JBIC has decided to take measures such as not approving the following parties to be the counterparty to the contract with JBIC.

(Details of measures)

  1. suspend the qualification to participate in general competition, nomination competition, planning competition, and other contractual competitions during the period of the action, and cancel the nomination if the Organization is currently nominated as a party to the contract. In addition, the Organization will not be a party to any negotiated contracts.

  2. The joint venture including the above-mentioned persons shall be treated in the same manner as described in 1. above during the period of the Measures. 3. during the term of the measure, the above-mentioned persons shall not be approved to act as subcontractors, completion guarantors or agents for contracts to which the Organization is a party.

This action was taken in connection with a bid for planning work for the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Test Games ordered by the Tokyo Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, in which six companies, Dentsu Group Inc. Hakuhodo Inc., Tokyu Agency Inc. and Seimutsu Inc. have been indicted on charges of violating the Act Concerning Prohibition of Private Monopolization and Maintenance of Fair Trade (Antimonopoly Act) (unfair restriction of trade), and for offering a bribe to a former director of the Tokyo Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. The arrests are in response to the arrests of executives and others from KADOKAWA, ADK Marketing Solutions, and Daiko for offering bribes to former directors of the Tokyo Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. The Organization will continue its efforts to prevent corruption.
