Tokyo Dome Hotel Opens “Executive Floor” with a Panoramic View of the City Center. First major renovation since its opening makes it an “Upper-Level Hideout

Posted on March 23, 2023 by News Admin

The Tokyo Dome Hotel (1-3-61 Koraku, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo) will undergo its first major guest room renewal since its opening in June 2000, with the opening on March 20 of the 39th through 41st floors as the “Executive Floors.

At the press preview held on March 13, prior to the opening of the new hotel, Mr. Fumiyuki Munakata, President and General Manager of the Tokyo Dome Hotel, gave an address. He expressed his confidence in the new concept of “Tokyo Retreat,” which he called “a space where you can enjoy a higher quality of hotel life,” along with the “Premium Floors” on the 35th through 38th floors, which had already been renovated and opened in February. The new concept is called “Tokyo Retreat.

He also recalls that the three-year Corona disaster “was a very difficult period for the tourism and hotel industries,” but he also says, “The WBC is being held right now at the Tokyo Dome next door, and the place is very crowded with visitors thanks to the great success of the Samurai Japan team. The sight of so many people cheering on the players made him feel that a new normal had arrived.

In light of the government’s policy to change the rule of wearing masks from March 13 and to shift to the new Corona 5 on May 8, he reiterated his wish that “we will not stop at this renewal and continue to focus our wisdom to further improve our services in order to make the hotel more safe and enjoyable for our guests.

Taro Hamada, Manager in charge of Planning and Coordination of the Lodging Department, then explained the key points of the renewal, saying, “We will provide a new style of hospitality (=Tokyo Retreat)” under the catchphrase, “Welcome to the Upper Retreat.

Retreats, which are meant to get away from daily life and reset the mind and body, are usually held in locations surrounded by nature, such as mountains or the sea. However, the hotel, located in a prestigious location near the Koishikawa Korakuen Garden, has created a special space that makes the most of the view from its high-rise floors.

The design of the hotel is a refreshing change from the image of the Tokyo Dome Hotel to date. Artwork depicting the three motifs of the Tokyo Dome City’s entertainment, plants in Korakuen Garden, and Yayoi earthenware excavated in the town of Bunkyo-ku, are placed throughout the rooms and lounges on the executive floor.
