It is finally the last day of the Queen Elizabeth trip. Afternoon tea and gala dinner for a special experience.

The traditional English afternoon tea is another treat! Afternoon tea, held daily around 3 to 4 p.m., is one of the highlights at Queen Elizabeth. The location is the “Queen’s Room” where parties, events, and ballroom dances are held in the evening. The photo above is one taken just after embarkation, but when it is time for afternoon tea, this place is filled with many guests. It was such a big crowd that I thought most of the people on board had gathered there. Perhaps it was because this was a short cruise of 3 days and 2 nights, and afternoon tea was held only on this day. There was a long line of people waiting for a table. Waiters in white uniforms first went around to each table with a pot of tea. What a picturesque scene! Next comes a tray of sandwiches, followed by cakes, tarts, and other sweet items, and then the waiter asks, “Which would you like?” I ask. I had just had fish and chips for lunch, and dinner awaits in three and a half hours, but this is the only thing I can’t resist. Finally, the long-awaited scones appear. I had heard that Queen Elizabeth’s scones have a good reputation, so I was looking forward to them. The scones are perfect for me, with their fine buttery flavor, the perfect balance of crispy and moist, and the nice, browned appearance. I ate them with lots of clotted cream.

The library at sea is a relaxing space I found my favorite place on board. It is the library on the second floor, connected to decks 2 and 3 by a spiral staircase. It is truly a cozy adult space. Tables and chairs are placed at just the right distance from each other, so I often stopped by when I wanted to relax a bit during a stroll around the ship. Just looking at the massive bookshelves lined with Western books is a good feeling. There were also a few Japanese books, though not many. There is also a “Paperback Exchange” corner where you can exchange your own books.

If you are looking for something to commemorate your visit to the Queen Elizabeth, you may want to visit the shop where you will find a wide range of official merchandise. If you are looking for something to commemorate your time aboard the Queen Elizabeth, I recommend the stores lined up with official goods. While the reporters in my group were buying sweatshirts, T-shirts, and folding umbrellas one after another, I decided to buy a Cunard Bear that caught my attention the moment I laid eyes on it. I named this Cunard bear, who wears a red life jacket, Beth, and I love him.
