Crypton Future Media has announced its decision to produce manhole covers featuring the company’s Hokkaido support characters “Snow Miku (Hatsune Miku)” and “Rabbit Yukine.
To commemorate the fact that the largest sewerage exhibition in Japan will be held in Sapporo for the first time in August, the manhole covers will be installed at five locations in Sapporo during July as the first manhole covers utilizing characters for the Sapporo Sewerage System.
The manhole covers were installed at five locations: Odori Park (Nishi 4-chome), Sapporo Dome (near the square in front of the dome), Jozankei Onsen (Tsukimi Bridge), Okurayama Jump Stadium (in front of the fountain), and Susukino intersection (north side of Minami 4-jo Nishi 3-chome). The manholes were designed by illustrator nekosumi, the original creator of “Rabbit Yukine.
