ANA and JAL have applied to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism for a revision of the applicable amount of the “fuel surcharge” (fuel surcharge). The surcharge will be applied from April 1 to May 31.
The two-month average Singapore kerosene market price from December 2022 to January 2023 was $112.95 per barrel. Multiplying this by the average exchange rate of 132.74 yen per dollar for the same period, the yen equivalent of the Singapore kerosene market price would be 14,992 yen, and the fuel surcharge applicable to tickets issued from April to May 2023 would be based on 14,000 yen.
