The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed on February 13 at the World Bank headquarters in Washington, D.C., with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), an institution of the World Bank Group, a yen loan project to The Bank and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), a member of the World Bank Group, agreed on February 21, 2018 to add Moldova, which hosts a large number of displaced persons from Ukraine, to the list of countries eligible for the “Loan for Jordan, Lebanon and other Middle Income Countries in the Middle East and North Africa through the Global Concessional Financing Facility (GCFF)” (loan amount: 100 billion yen, signed on February 21, 2018). The agreement was signed on February 21, 2018.
The GCFF was initially launched to provide assistance to countries receiving displaced persons from Syria, but was expanded to include countries other than Syria. In May 2022, Moldova was added as a recipient country. By utilizing this loan and making contributions to the GCFF, highly concessional funds will be provided to refugee host countries, including Moldova, for efforts to improve the living conditions of refugees.
