This project was realized because Tokio Air has adopted the WWS as the uniform for pilots, CAs, and mechanics. It is a standard “MA-1” type flight jacket, with the image of a crested ibis (Toki) flying away on the left chest and the registration codes “F-WNUG” and “JA01QQ” of the first Toki Air plane printed on the right arm.
The fabric is made of “Ultimex,” a new proprietary material that dries quickly, is water-repellent, has excellent elasticity, and is form-stabilizing. For the padding, the company used “Thermolite Ecomaid padding,” which is made from recycled fibers but has high heat retention properties. In addition, as with the WWS product line, it can be washed in a household washing machine.
