Nagoya Railroad Co. installed public art featuring local stories, such as the legend of Momotaro in Inuyama City, Aichi Prefecture, in the downstream station building of Inuyama-Yuen Station, and unveiled it on February 3, 2012.

In addition to depicting the flow of the Kiso River, the peach, a symbol of rich nature and prosperity of descendants, and seasonal scenes, the shadow puppets that are part of the artwork reflect memories of Inuyama gathered from local residents. The shadow puppets, part of the artwork, reflect memories of Inuyama solicited from local residents. The work was created by artistic director Toshio Shimizu and artist Motoka Watanabe.

Inuyama-Yuen Station is located near the national treasure Inuyama Castle and the Japanese garden Yurakuen, and is the second most accessible station after Inuyama Station. By adding the value of art to the station, the company aims to make it a “fun station to visit” and a “station loved by local residents” as one of the sightseeing spots on a tour of the city.
