JAL’s Summer Hawaii Routes to Honolulu and Kona; A350-1000 Aircraft to Finally Be Launched from Haneda to New York

Posted on February 1, 2023 by News Admin

JAL has finalized its international route flight plan for the summer season of FY2023.

On international routes, the supply of passenger flights will be expanded from the FY2022 Winter Plan in light of changes in the environment, such as the relaxation of waterfront restrictions in various countries from the Corona Disaster. In particular, on Haneda routes, a second new flight will be launched on the New York route, the Singapore route will be increased to two daily flights, and the Manila route will be increased to daily flights. As a result, the number of flights on the Haneda route will be approximately 1.5 times the number before Corona. On the Narita route, the airline aims to strengthen its network with North America, Asia, and China, including the three Group LCCs, while maintaining a route that offers convenient connections to a third country.

During the summer vacation period, in addition to the Honolulu route from Haneda, Narita, Kansai International Airport, and Centrair, the Narita-Kona route will be operated. During Golden Week and summer vacation periods, JAL will also operate a Narita-Guam route to meet the demand for leisure travel. The airline is currently making adjustments to its East Asia routes other than Hong Kong, Taipei, and Seoul.

During the 2023 winter timetable, a new flagship Airbus A350-1000 aircraft will be introduced on the Haneda-New York route. The new aircraft is expected to reduce CO2 emissions and noise compared to the previous model. The cabin specifications will also be renewed with the introduction of the new aircraft.

John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York will move from “Terminal 1” to “Terminal 8” on May 28. This will shorten connection times with American Airlines flights between the U.S. and Latin American cities.

In addition, Haneda Airport will open an expanded international Sakura Lounge in the spring.
