Tokyu Corporation will undertake a large-scale renovation of the 48-year-old Ohashi Kaikan (3-7-11 Higashiyama, Meguro-ku, Tokyo), located a five-minute walk from Ikejiri-Ohashi Station on the Denentoshi Line, to open in early summer 2023.
As a base for creators to gather, it will combine functions such as a café/bar/restaurant, shared offices, shared hotel residences, and a sauna. Previously used as a training facility, etc., it will focus on the characteristics of the Ikejiri-Ohashi area, which has unique private stores and galleries, and aims to create a crossroads between local residents and creators.
On the first floor, there will be a restaurant by “Terrain” that offers breakfast in the morning supervised by Overview Coffee and dining from noon to night with wine selected by the former sommelier of Noble Rot, a London wine bar. In addition, a multi-purpose space for exhibiting artworks and holding events will be arranged by CEKAI, an association of various creators.
Shared offices on the 2nd and 3rd floors can be used for offices, exhibitions, and photography, while the shared hotel residence on the 4th and 5th floors can be rented out as a hotel to third parties during long-term stays for a reduced fee. In addition, a private sauna will be provided on the 5th floor.
In addition, a “common” space for everyone is planned at the entrance.
