G-SHOCK “FROGMAN” diver’s watch for 200-meter dives, featuring a “hermit frog” motif model

Posted on January 27, 2023 by News Admin

Casio Computer Co., Ltd. will release a special model (GWF-A1000APF-1AJR) with a “hermit frog” motif as the second limited edition project to commemorate the 30th anniversary of G-SHOCK’s “FROGMAN” diver’s watch. The price is 137,500 yen.

The base model is the GWF-A1000. Focusing on the rare frogs that inhabit the Amazon in South America, multi-colored carbon was used for the bezel to express their mysterious colors. The bezel is made of randomly layered colorful carbon and fiberglass base materials, and is machined and molded so that no two bezels are alike. Combined with a skeletonized urethane material, the bezel also expresses the texture of the skin of a hermit frog inhabiting the water’s edge.

The band is spray-painted with polarized ink to resemble the speckled pattern of frogs. The engraving of the frog character on the back of the case, which is always designed on Frogman, is also specially designed with a speckled pattern of hermit frogs.
